After April 2014 XP was no longer supported by Microsoft (in Microsoft jargon "extended support" ended) . The following is provided for existing users but may not be up to date for the latest versions of SuperView25 etc .
Microsoft's XP was first released in 2003 and despite being replaced by Microsoft with Windows Vista and then Windows 7 it remained popular.
Its official replacement Vista initially had problems and remained unpopular in comparison but Windows 7 was generally liked.
During its life time Microsoft have issued various service packs (eg SP1, SP2 and SP3) which update details of the operating system.
Microsoft no longer supply XP and have phased out support, which ceased in April 2014. So there will be no new security patches.
Some new hardware and new software may not support Windows XP. For example Microsoft Office 2013 or Microsoft free Live Mail is available in two versions one for XP and a better one for later OSes.
It is questionable if it is worth the time and effort to upgrade presumably quite old hardware.
Although it is possible to upgrade XP to later versions of Windows you need to ensure all the hardware is supported. Microsoft used to provide an Upgrade Assistant on their web sites that could be used to verify this. Some hardware (especially printers and scanners) may well not be supported. Please view our other pages for compatibility of your version of SuperView with later versions of Windows.
We can not comment on Microsoft's upgrade licenses and charges.
We have phased out support for Windows XP as Microsoft dropped their support a number of years ago.
There was a version of SuperView25 that ran on Windows XP but remember a graphics processor is required (not a standard requirement with XP)
Many older versions of SuperView were targeted at Windows XP and so run well.
As Microsoft have phased out support for XP it has become harder for us to support XP in new versions or features of SuperView. New versions of SuperView will not be able to run on Windows XP.
Windows XP did not require a graphics processor but SuperView is far better with one and some features in SuperView25 require one. Windows Vista and above require a graphics processor.
We do not support running SuperView versions that are older than the version of Windows they are running on.
