M'n'G designs full programs are supplied with a dongle. This is connected via a USB port and a driver is required to allow the software to 'talk' to this dongle.
If this driver is not installed the software will not 'see' the dongle and will behave as if it is not connected so you will get a "Setup-Error".
A similar error occurs with Windows 10 Spring 2018 Update (1803) and SuperView25 pre 7.2.1.0 - please contact us for help
NB some operating systems that use a "compatibility" mode to run Windows or Windows (desktop) programs may not allow this driver to be loaded.
The dongle can be connected via any free USB port that is available whilst SuperView is running.
The dongle has a full size USB A male connector - some PCs may only have a micro or mini port, convertors can be used but we do not provide one.
The dongle requires little power - so an unpowered hub can be used.
We recommend connecting via a USB lead (A male to A female) to reduce the chance of damaging either the dongle or computer. Although the very latest "micro" dongles hardly protrude from the port so this maybe not be required.
If you have an old system and need to 'trade-in' an old parallel port dongle for a new USB dongle please contact us. Converters from USB to printer port are not suitable for these old dongles.
Please install the driver before connecting the USB dongle.
This driver needs installing once per machine and can only be installed with 'administrator' rights. (Most machines not on a business network are OK otherwise contact your network 'manager')
For information see Dongle Setup
Recent USB dongles require version 7.3 or 7.5 (older dongles are compatible)
Minimum Sentinel driver version 5.0.4.1,
The driver for the parallel port is not required and should not be installed but must be updated if it was previously installed!
SuperView3 could use earlier versions of the driver. Simply use the short cut as mentioned above.
We do not recommend updating the SuperPro driver unless you have changed dongle or are having problems or it is specifically suggested by M'n'G designs.
Users of Windows 10 version 1803 or later should contact M'n'G designs if they have installed the driver and are still getting "Driver not installed" type of messages.
Users of Windows 98 or Me can NOT use the latest drivers (Protection Installer 7.5.0 is the latest suitable aka Driver 7.0)
The dongle is an important part of the license to use M'n'G designs products. Put simply it is the physical part of the license and should be looked after accordingly. A lost dongle is a lost license!
The dongle has no user accessible memory and so can not be used to transfer any data from or to a machine. The dongle manufacturers Safenet Inc are a large multinational company - for more information visit their website
