If the 3D picture is distorted, flickers or even missing the problem is probably the graphics driver or its setup, not the program itself. {In some cases this can also affect the preview pictures that are generated for the plan}
M'n'G designs products use OpenGL to help generate the graphics and get the best out of the hardware. This uses a 'driver' supplied either by the computer manufacturer, graphics chip manufacturer or Microsoft.
Each driver has a number of 'modes'. The best mode depends on a lot of factors. SuperVew usually automatically selects a suitable mode but this is does not always work correctly. This is often because the driver has 'bugs', which is often true of early drivers for a new OS but can be true of any driver!
The driver supplied with the card or machine is often not the newest driver - so check the suppliers web site for a later driver.
Machines with two graphics processor often need the processor setting in the driver utility.
If you have changed the computers display settings it is possible this will change the behaviour of the driver and the OpenGL mode required
You may not realise that you have made the change
For example turning Aero on or off in Vista or Windows 7. Even installing some programs can change the resolution. Installing a newer driver may well require the mode to be reselected.
On laptops with more than one graphics processor ensure you are using the same one - some machines switch automatically especially if you switch power source.
M'n'G designs provide a utility for selecting the mode to be used. Simply load the SuperView program as normal but do not load a customer file. From the Help drop down menu select Settings then 3D Display Mode. This will launch a utility that offers the 'best' not accelerated and (if available) 'best' accelerated modes and a method to manually choose the mode.
The non-accelerated mode will often provide a more reliable but far less well featured and slower mode. If the problems persist please contact us AND check for updated drivers.
Windows 8.1 - if you have updated from Windows 8 you need to ensure you have the latest drivers especially if your machine has two graphics processors. Please check the manufacturer's web-site.
Windows 7 - a few early drivers (2009) seem to have had problems. Please check the manufacturers web-site.
Microsoft Vista: - many drivers shipping in 2007 with the hardware were NOT good enough. Please check the manufacturers web-site. Some need Aero disabling - the SuperView utility allows you to do this for just the SuperView programs.
Intel - in general these drivers are not as good as those from other companies - ensure you have the most up-to-date. The situation has improved for Intel HD graphics but please still ensure you have the most up-to-date.
NB the modes shown when using manual selection in the SV utility are all those supported by the combination of card and driver they are NOT all suitable for SuperView
